TransCanada Expands Ontario Solar Plant Portfolio

Law360, New York (January 2, 2014, 4:26 PM EST) -- TransCanada Corp. has acquired a fourth solar power plant in Ontario from Canadian Solar Inc. as part of a $470 million, nine-plant deal between the parties in 2011, TransCanada announced Thursday.

The Canadian energy company will take control of the Mississippi Mills plant, a newly constructed 10-megawatt facility located just west of Ottawa, which Canadian Solar values at approximately $57 million. TransCanada had previously purchased the Brockville 1, Brockville 2 and Burritts Rapids from the Canada-based global solar power operator.
