International Movers Fined €32.7M For 19-Year Cartel

Law360, New York (March 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Nine international moving companies were fined a total of €32.7 million by the European Commission on Tuesday for participating in a complex cartel that allegedly operated for nearly 19 years.

The cartel covered international “door-to-door” removal services to and from Belgium, the commission said. The nine companies fixed prices, carved up the market for international removals and rigged bids for international removal services, the commission said.
