FireEye Inks $1B Deal For Computer Forensics Firm Mandiant

Law360, San Francisco (January 2, 2014, 6:14 PM EST) -- Cybersecurity company FireEye Inc. has acquired computer forensics firm Mandiant Inc. in a deal valued at more than $1 billion in stock and cash, the companies said Thursday.

The buyout, which closed Monday but was not revealed until Thursday, included the release of 21.5 million FireEye shares and options, as well as $106.5 million in net cash to former Mandiant security holders, the companies said. FireEye's shares were valued at $43.69 Monday, making the release worth $939.3 million, according to market data.
