Pa. Gov. Wants Landmark Fracking Ruling Reconsidered

Law360, Philadelphia (January 2, 2014, 6:03 PM EST) -- Gov. Tom Corbett’s administration on Thursday slammed a recent landmark decision by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court invalidating key provisions of the state’s sweeping rules on hydraulic fracturing and urged the justices the reconsider the ruling.

Corbett’s legal team said that the Supreme Court’s plurality decision had improperly struck down a portion of the statute, known as Act 13, that bars municipalities from from passing zoning ordinances restricting natural gas drilling without a complete factual record.
