Thorp Reed Pursued Frivolous Malpractice Claims, Suit Says

Law360, Philadelphia (January 3, 2014, 1:54 PM EST) -- Thorp Reed & Armstrong LLP was slapped with a lawsuit in Pennsylvania state court last Tuesday alleging that it pursued frivolous malpractice claims against rival Jaffe & Hough PC over its representation of a local beauty salon solely to try to force a settlement.

The complaint alleged that Thorp Reed forced Jaffe & Hough to defend itself against claims that it had betrayed a Philadelphia-area beauty salon it represented by surreptitiously aiding a rival, despite knowing that the allegations were without merit.
