SEC's Canellos To Leave Enforcement Post

Law360, New York (January 3, 2014, 2:14 PM EST) -- George Canellos will soon step down as co-director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Enforcement, the agency said Friday, ending a tenure marked by high-profile insider trading cases and a landmark change in settlement policy.

Canellos will depart later in January after more than four years at the SEC, the agency said, leaving Andrew Ceresney as the sole enforcement chief. Canellos “has not yet made future career plans,” the SEC added.
