Rep. Urges Renewal Of Aid To Workers Displaced By Trade

Law360, New York (January 3, 2014, 6:46 PM EST) -- Rep. Sander Levin, D-Mich., on Tuesday called on Congress to extend a program that provides training to workers who lose their jobs due to increased imports or production facilities moving abroad.

The Michigan Democrat said key provisions of the Trade Adjustment Assistance program — which aims to train and support U.S. workers whose jobs are displaced as a result of foreign trade — were set to expire at the end of 2013.
