NM Gov. Looks To Expand Angel Investor Tax Credit

Law360, New York (January 3, 2014, 7:14 PM EST) -- New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez on Friday introduced a proposal to expand the state's angel investment tax credit, a move that is intended to bolster investment in the state's emerging tech industry.

The state allows investors to claim a 25 percent credit on an investment of up to $100,000 into a New Mexico-based startup. Martinez's proposal would increase the maximum size of an individual investment to $250,000 and increase the overall cap on the credit from $750,000 to $2 million.
