Fla. Social Worker Can't Block Release Of Medical Records

Law360, Miami (January 6, 2014, 6:39 PM EST) -- A Florida appeals court on Friday rejected a social worker's attempt to block the release of her medical and psychological records in a lawsuit she filed against a health care provider that had employed her, but found a trial court erred by not limiting discovery to relevant materials.

A three-judge First District Court of Appeal panel said licensed clinical social worker Joan Scully's Florida Civil Rights Act suit against her former employer Shands Teaching Hospital & Clinics Inc. made her records discoverable.
