'Patent Troll' Targets Coca-Cola Amid Probe By AGs

Law360, New York (January 7, 2014, 6:52 PM EST) -- A so-called patent troll under investigation by attorneys general in several states has ramped up its patent enforcement campaign, filing suits against the Coca-Cola Co. and others alleging infringement of its patents for technology for scanning documents to email.

In suits filed Jan. 3 in federal court in Delaware, MPHJ Technology Investments LLC, which had largely confined its enforcement efforts to sending licensing demand letters to scores of small businesses, took aim at Coca-Cola, insurance company Unum Group and department store chain Dillard's Inc.
