W.Va. Treasurer Loses 63 DMF Suits Against Life Insurers

Law360, New York (January 6, 2014, 5:22 PM EST) -- A West Virginia court has axed more than 60 lawsuits the state treasurer brought against life insurers that didn't search the U.S. Social Security Administration's Death Master File to proactively pay out benefits, holding that these types of searches were not required by law.
