House Ways And Means Member Gerlach To Retire

Law360, New York (January 6, 2014, 4:48 PM EST) -- Pennsylvania Republican Jim Gerlach, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, announced Monday that he will not seek a seventh term after a decade in Congress.

Gerlach, 58, said he is ready for new challenges and wants to spend more time with his wife and family. Gerlach, first elected to Congress in 2002, is a member of the House's powerful tax writing committee, and helped lead discussions on how the tax code can be reformed to benefit domestic manufacturing.
