Starwood Capital Rakes In $983M For 2nd Energy Fund

Law360, New York (January 7, 2014, 1:31 PM EST) -- Starwood Capital Group Global LLC maxed out its Energy Infrastructure Fund II at $983 million, planning to invest in wind, solar, natural gas and other power generation and high-voltage transmission assets, the private equity firm said Tuesday.

The new fund will function much like the previous one, which closed at $433 million in 2008. It will invest mainly in North America, which has a booming shale hydrocarbon market and a growing one for renewables.
