EPA Moves Ahead With New Power Plant Emissions Rule

Law360, New York (January 7, 2014, 1:25 PM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is launching a 60-day public comment period on its controversial emissions standards for carbon pollution from new power plants, with the three-month old proposal finally scheduled for Federal Register publication on Wednesday.

The proposed rule is expected to garner a barrage of comments from across the political spectrum, from energy industry groups arguing that the proposal is a death sentence for coal to environmental advocates claiming the action is necessary to stem the tide of climate change.
