GOP Rep. Wants ACA Replaced With Tax Deduction

Law360, New York (January 8, 2014, 2:32 PM EST) -- Rep. David Schweikert, R-Ariz., urged Congress on Tuesday to repeal the Affordable Care Act and institute a replacement program that will provide a standard tax deduction for health insurance, saying the ACA is “not fit for consumption.”

Schweikert says the legislation he co-sponsored, the American Health Care Reform Act of 2013, will level the playing field between individuals who purchase insurance from an employer and those who purchase it in the individual market.
