Reps. Float Bill For Volunteer Firefighters' Tax Break

Law360, New York (January 8, 2014, 6:42 PM EST) -- A pair of Congressmen on Wednesday introduced a bill to extend one of many expired tax breaks, specifically for volunteer firefighters and emergency medical services personnel, that is unlike other proposals to restore such tax breaks.

The Volunteer Responder Incentive Protection Reauthorization Act, introduced Wednesday by Rep. John B. Larson, D-Conn., and Rep. Tom Latham, R-Iowa, would increase the value of benefits offered by communities that bolster recruitment and retention of volunteer first responders.
