FERC Targets Louis Dreyfus Over Market Manipulation

Law360, New York (January 8, 2014, 8:03 PM EST) -- A unit of energy commodities giant Louis Dreyfus Group allegedly violated electric energy market manipulation prohibitions for a little over a year in North Dakota, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission said Monday.

Louis Dreyfus Energy Services LP placed virtual trades in North Dakota with a regional transmission group to sway the value of its financial transmission rights from November 2009 to February 2010, according to a Monday notice from FERC.
