Issa Threatens Criminal Probe Over Sebelius Testimony

Law360, New York (January 8, 2014, 8:21 PM EST) -- Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., threatened Wednesday to open a criminal investigation into congressional testimony delivered by U.S. Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, saying she made “false and misleading statements” regarding security of the Affordable Care Act’s online marketplace.

Much of the basis for Issa’s allegations has already been hotly contested by Democrats who accuse him of cherry-picking remarks by regulators to find wrongdoing where none exists.
