ACA Security Bill Clears House With Democratic Help

Law360, New York (January 10, 2014, 12:20 PM EST) -- Brushing off White House criticism, the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday delivered a resounding bipartisan vote in favor of legislation that would mandate rapid alerts if any consumer information is unlawfully accessed on the Affordable Care Act’s federal marketplace.

Lawmakers approved H.R. 3811, the Health Exchange Security and Transparency Act, on a 291-122 vote that saw 67 Democrats break ranks and join 224 Republicans in favor of the bill. All opponents were Democrats.
