Compulsory License Battle Moves To Indian Court

Law360 (March 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Heating up the controversy over compulsory licensing, the High Court of Delhi reportedly is set to consider whether Indian generics manufacturer Natco Pharma should be allowed to override patents on cancer drugs made by Pfizer Inc. and F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd.

The case, which is the first to center on the divisive issue of compulsory licensing since India revamped its patent laws in January 2005, will be heard in the High Court this week, the Wall Street Journal Asia said Thursday.
