Canada's Goldcorp Lobs $2.4B Bid For Gold Miner Osisko

Law360, New York (January 13, 2014, 2:01 PM EST) -- Goldcorp. Inc. launched a CA$2.6 billion ($2.4 billion) takeover bid at Montreal-based Osisko Mining Corp. in an effort to add Osisko’s Malartic gold mine to its portfolio, the Canadian gold producer said Monday.

The cash-and-stock offer would garner Osisko investors CA$2.26 and 0.146 of a Goldcorp common share for a total value of CA$5.95 per Osisko share, which represents a 15 percent premium over Osisko’s closing price, Goldcorp said.
