HHS Again Extends Coverage For Pre-Existing Conditions

Law360, New York (January 15, 2014, 2:27 PM EST) -- The roughly 30,000 people enrolled in state and federal Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan programs can remain enrolled until the end of March, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said Wednesday, after previously extending coverage through the end of January.

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius had in December announced an extension through January for patients with pre-existing conditions under the program, saying at the time that the department wanted to allow such patients more time to find coverage. The PCIP is a transitional program set up...
