Osisko Blasts Goldcorp's 'Very Low' $2.3B Buyout Bid

Law360, New York (January 15, 2014, 12:32 PM EST) -- Osisko Mining Corp. said Wednesday that it was reviewing Canadian gold producer Goldcorp Inc.'s proposed 2.6 billion Canadian dollar ($2.3 billion) takeover bid, but balked that the cash-and-stock offer was "very low" and "opportunistic."

The Montreal-based miner said in a statement that its board of directors and financial and legal advisers will review the unsolicited offer, which Vancouver-based Goldcorp launched Monday, and then advise its shareholders as appropriate.
