Alaska Enters Into $45B LNG Project As Equity Partner

Law360, New York (January 15, 2014, 8:44 PM EST) -- The Alaska Department of Natural Resources has agreed to enter into the $45 billion Alaskan liquefied natural gas project as an equity partner to Exxon Mobil, ConocoPhillips, BP and TransCanada Corp., the department said Wednesday.

Alaska has committed $5.75 billion to the project, according to various news agencies. The department and Gov. Sean Parnell urged state legislators to sign off on the export project, which includes a pipeline from the gas-rich North Alaska, running down to the town of Nikiski on the Kenai Peninsula.
