Pa. Rep. Proposes Body To Review Coal Plant Closures

Law360, Philadelphia (January 16, 2014, 3:34 PM EST) -- A Pennsylvania state representative said on Thursday that she intends to introduce legislation that would create a state body to review the effects of future coal power plant closures, months after First Energy Corp. shuttered two coal-fired plants in her region.

Rep. Pam Snyder, D-Fayette/Greene/Washington, said that the proposed Coal-Fired Electric Generation Deactivation Commission would fill a void in evaluating the economic, environmental and community impact of these closures.
