Pa. Wants Harrisburg Removed From Receiver's Authority

Law360, Philadelphia (January 16, 2014, 6:23 PM EST) -- Pennsylvania officials on Thursday asked a state court judge to remove the capital city of Harrisburg from receivership, contending the city is successfully moving forward on a plan to achieve financial stability.

Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary C. Alan Walker told Commonwealth Court Judge Bonnie Brigance Leadbetter that the completion of transactions to monetize the city’s incinerator and parking system had pulled the city out of a state of financial emergency.
