Biotech Giants Find Cooperation More Lucrative

Law360 (January 18, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a rare move for a litigious industry, biotechnology firm Dow Chemical Co. has reached a wide-ranging settlement and cross-licensing agreement with rival Monsanto Co., triggering what both companies hope will be profitable cooperation in emerging gene technology.

“Our business strategy is built on a commitment to broadly license our technology and compete in the marketplace,” Monsanto said in a statement.
