Trade Representative Asks For Input On Spain's IP Practices

Law360, Los Angeles (January 23, 2014, 7:13 PM EST) -- The U.S. Trade Representative launched an out-of-cycle review of Spain and El Salvador copyright protections policies and practices, asking the public for comment on how the nations protect U.S. businesses’ intellectual property rights, according to a notice set to be published in the Federal Register Friday.

The review will help the USTR gauge the effectiveness of a Spanish law passed more than a year ago aimed at online piracy. The passage of the law was enough to get Spain removed from the office’s list of problem...
