Top Economies To Push For Freer Trade On Enviro Goods

Law360, New York (January 24, 2014, 6:33 PM EST) -- The U.S., European Union, China and 11 other governments have agreed to launch negotiations at the World Trade Organization to reduce tariffs on environmental goods like wind turbines and solar panels, the countries announced Friday.

On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum taking place in Davos, Switzerland, representatives of 14 WTO governments said in a joint statement they would begin preparing for negotiations to free up trade in environmental goods, including solar water heaters, wastewater management equipment and wind turbines.
