Fed. Circ. Junks Patents On Treatment-Picking Program

Law360, New York (January 24, 2014, 8:05 PM EST) -- The Federal Circuit ruled Friday that Advanced Biological Laboratories SA's patents on a computer program that helps doctors select treatments for patients are invalid because they claim a mental process that can't be patented, in a win for SmartGene Inc., which challenged the patent.
