Cyberattack Blamed For Federal Court Site Outages

Law360, Los Angeles (January 24, 2014, 8:14 PM EST) -- Websites for the federal judiciary went down for about four hours Friday afternoon, with one federal clerk calling the outage the likely result of a “national cyberattack.”

Federal district and appellate court sites, along with their electronic filing functions, went down about 3:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time before coming back online about 7 p.m. The judiciary’s Public Access To Court Electronic Records site also went offline.

The website for the U.S. Supreme Court did not appear to be affected.
