Calif. High Court Denies Disgraced Ex-Journalist's Bar Bid

Law360, Los Angeles (January 27, 2014, 5:03 PM EST) -- The California Supreme Court on Monday denied disgraced former journalist Stephen Glass’ attempt to join the state bar, ruling Glass’ reformation appeared to be out of self-interest and that his testimony during a moral review hearing was unconvincing. 

The unsigned opinion rejected the State Bar Court’s recommendation to allow Glass to join the bar, finding that Glass had not shown he was morally fit to practice law more than a decade after he had fabricated dozens of articles for national publications. While Glass disclosed his misdeeds...
