High Court Won't Take On $17M Mayer Brown Malpractice Suit

Law360, New York (January 27, 2014, 5:05 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court declined Monday to hear a California-based management consulting firm's appeal to revive a $17 million malpractice suit against Mayer Brown LLP for allegedly providing bad advice to a now-bankrupt health care management company.

The appeal was filed by Glendale, Calif.-based Spehar Capital LLC in an attempt to pave the way for health care management services company CMGT Inc. to recover funds it owes to Spehar for cutting Spehar out of a spinoff transaction with its shareholders.
