GOP Introduces Affordable Care Act Replacement Bill

Law360, New York (January 27, 2014, 6:40 PM EST) -- Three Republican senators on Monday proposed a bill that would repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, largely through changes to the Tax Code.

The bill, named the Patient Choice, Affordability, Responsibility and Empowerment Act — or CARE Act — does not include a requirement that all Americans buy health insurance or pay a tax penalty and provides a new tax credit that can be used solely for the purchase of health care.
