Pacific Chloride Can Seek Fire Damages From Exide Insurers

Law360, Wilmington (January 28, 2014, 9:49 PM EST) -- A Delaware bankruptcy judge on Tuesday agreed to lift the automatic stay in Exide Technologies Inc.'s Chapter 11 case so Pacific Chloride Inc. can sue insurers over $7.6 million in fire-related damages at a Louisiana plant it leased to the bankrupt battery maker.

PCI's bid to lift the stay for itself met with no opposition, but the targeted insurance carriers contended that the court should also allow Exide to be named in the proposed suit.
