Sens. Introduce Chemical Spill Prevention Bill

Law360, Los Angeles (January 28, 2014, 5:32 PM EST) -- A trio of U.S. senators on Tuesday introduced a bill aimed at strengthening states' abilities to prevent chemical spills like the one earlier this month in West Virginia that contaminated the water supply for 300,000 people across nine counties.

Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., chairwoman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, introduced the Chemical Safety and Drinking Water Protection Act Tuesday, along with Sens. Joe Manchin and Jay Rockefeller, both D-W.Va.
