NTP Waters Down Injunction To Shut Down BlackBerry

Law360, New York (January 19, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Patent holding company NTP Inc. is siding with its adversary, Research In Motion Ltd., on the contentious issue of government-held BlackBerry devices, hoping to win an injunction by agreeing the workers be exempt from a possible service blackout.

NTP has also said that should a shutdown take place in the United States, people who use the portable email device will get a 30-day "grace period" before any cutoff.
