EU Mulls Renewing Chinese Fastener Duties In WTO Fight

Law360, New York (January 30, 2014, 5:45 PM EST) -- The European Commission launched a review Thursday of soon-to-expire anti-dumping duties on Chinese screws, bolts and washers that China has challenged before the World Trade Organization, after a group of European fastener makers warned that the tariffs' elimination would damage their business.

The commission's review of the five-year-old duties’ impending expiration on Feb. 1 was based on a request from the European Industrial Fasteners Institute, a trade association that said allowing the clock to run out on the trade measures would probably lead to a recurrence...
