FTC Clears Thermo Fisher's $14B Life Tech Buy With GE Deal

Law360, New York (January 31, 2014, 7:01 PM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission on Friday signed off on Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.'s $13.6 billion acquisition of Life Technologies Corp. after the scientific research giant agreed to sell three businesses to General Electric Co.'s health care unit to assuage the watchdog's competition concerns.
