Offshore Law Firm Ogier Sells Unit In $294M PE-Backed MBO

Law360, New York (February 3, 2014, 6:17 PM EST) -- Offshore law firm The Ogier Group has completed a £180 million ($293.5 million) management buy-out of its fiduciary business, backed by private equity fund manager Electra Partners, Ogier announced Monday.

The deal, which is still subject to regulatory conditions, closed Feb. 1, with Electra Partners agreeing to invest £83 million of equity in the transaction.

“Ogier Fiduciary Services is now at the stage where an MBO makes perfect sense given the additional investment needed to achieve its significant growth plans,” Ogier Group CEO Nick Kershaw said...
