Law360, Washington (February 3, 2014, 3:24 PM EST) -- Retail pharmacy giant Walgreen Co. on Friday sued rivals CVS Caremark Corp., Rite Aid Corp. and private equity-owned Shopko Stores Operating Co. LLC in Delaware federal court, accusing them of infringing a patent for refilling prescriptions using a mobile device.
According to Walgreens, the apps made by its rivals and variously offered on the iPhone, iPad, Android and BlackBerry platforms infringe U.S. Patent Number 8,626,530, titled “System and method for express refill.”
