Law360, Los Angeles (February 3, 2014, 5:03 PM EST) -- Prominent Canadian firm Heenan Blaikie LLP is planning a "major restructuring" amid financial troubles and a long string of attorney departures, according to news reports.

The Canadian news outlet Financial Post reported Sunday that, following a weekend meeting, Montreal, Quebec-based Heenan announced it would be undergo a major restructuring. Heenan confirmed few details about the plan, although one of the firm's partners told the FP last week that a merger with another firm was unlikely.
