Singapore Refining Invests In $500M Gasoline Upgrades

Law360, New York (February 4, 2014, 2:02 PM EST) -- Singapore Refining Co. will invest 634 million Singaporean dollars ($500 million) in a suite of gasoline production units and power generators at its Jurong Island refinery, the company said Tuesday.

SRC is a 50-50 joint venture between Chevron and Singapore Petroleum Co., a subsidiary of PetroChina Co Ltd., formed in 1979. The refinery upgrades will improve efficiency, top off its power needs and enable it to produce better auto fuels, according to SRC. The project will create about 2,000 construction jobs.
