Sierra Club Threatens To Sue Over EPA Inaction On Ozone

Law360, Chicago (February 4, 2014, 1:31 PM EST) -- The Sierra Club warned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency last week that it intends to file a lawsuit over the regulator’s failure to reclassify dozens of areas around the country that regularly exceed air quality standards for ozone.

The EPA has unreasonably delayed its response to the Sierra Club’s November petition asking the regulator to deem the 57 areas in violation of the 2008 National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Ozone, which would subject them to a Clean Air Act program designed to bring ozone levels...
