FERC Probe To Shine Light On Florida Blackout

Law360, New York (March 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has joined the investigation into whether violations of reliability standards led to the blackout that swept through southern Florida last month and left almost three million people without power.

FERC said on Wednesday that it will take part in a nonpublic, formal inquiry that the North American Electric Reliability Corp. and the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council began on the day of the blackout, Feb. 26.
