Pa. PUC Rejects Settlement Deal Over Energy Marketing

Law360, Philadelphia (February 6, 2014, 2:23 PM EST) -- The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission shot down a settlement deal over improper marketing practices with a supplier of electricity and natural gas on Thursday after finding that the company's conduct warranted a harsher punishment from state energy regulators.

The commission voted 5-0 to nix a proposed $75,000 settlement between its Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement and Pennsylvania Gas & Electric due to findings that the company had switched utility suppliers for consumers without first securing their clear consent.
