USTR Names Global Markets That Are 'Notorious' For Piracy

Law360, New York (February 12, 2014, 6:13 PM EST) -- The U.S. Trade Representative's Office on Wednesday released its annual list of "notorious" marketplaces accused of facilitating commercial-scale piracy of U.S. goods, and the report highlighted a series of shopping meccas in China and Thailand that have continued selling large quantities of knockoffs despite enforcement actions.

U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman said the websites and real-world shopping destinations that made the 2013 "Review of Notorious Markets" threatened the domestic "innovative and creative" industries and U.S. employment.
