SEC Chief Gets OK To Oversee Former Client Credit Suisse

Law360, Los Angeles (February 10, 2014, 5:15 PM EST) -- The head of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday got the go-ahead from the agency's ethics counsel to preside over matters regarding Credit Suisse Group AG, a client of hers during her tenure at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP.

Mary Jo White has recused herself from matters involving oversight and investigation of Credit Suisse since the start of her term as SEC chair on April 10. Typically, the head of the agency must wait two years before overseeing former employers or clients.
