Sens. Press CFTC To Share Energy Trading Data With FERC

Law360, New York (February 11, 2014, 1:04 PM EST) -- Eight U.S. senators on Monday said they've urged the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to start sharing trading data with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission by the end of this month, saying rigorous oversight of U.S. energy markets can't wait.

The CFTC and FERC, which have fought turf battles over energy market manipulation enforcement, last month finally inked memorandums of understanding mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act in which each agency will notify the other of activities that may involve overlapping jurisdiction, as well as coordinate and address...
