H&R Block Sues Tax Prep Chain For Violating Noncompete

Law360, New York (February 11, 2014, 2:09 PM EST) -- H&R Block Enterprises LLC filed suit in Missouri federal court Monday against a Colorado-based chain of tax offices, claiming it violated the terms of a noncompetition agreement by opening a new office after being purchased and subsequently shut down by the tax giant.

According to its complaint, H&R Block agreed to purchase Taxes Latinos Americanos LLC and all of its assets, including its trade names, client lists and contact information, furniture, websites and email addresses, in October 2012.
